Target Adventure

It's been awhile since my last post, but such is life with a little one in the house! Reeve is still doing beautifully....found her fingers at 3 weeks, first social smile at 5 weeks, and a million things to come. We've being going on walks most days since she was about 3 weeks, but ventured out on our first big outing this week to Target. She loves riding in her car seat, exploring the world with her eyes and enjoying the vibration of the car movements. Once we arrived, I decided we would use the sling for walking around in Target and as I removed her from the car seat to place her into the sling, I discovered a poo explosion had taken place on our way there. She had an adorable pink floral dress on, covered in the mustard colored substance (sorry if too graphic!), and I quickly realized a venture to Target had become an adventure! Once I changed her diaper and clothes, we started on our way. With one foot in the door, she started to yelp and then fuss, and then cry, and I realized quickly we needed to find a fitting room so I could nurse her. She was content after this, as I crammed myself into one of the fitting rooms and tried to find a way to prop myself up. Listening to the sounds of people trying on clothes and telling stories of what they were going to do the rest of the day, I smiled. My life was so different now, and despite the uncomfortable bench in the cramped Target fitting room, there was no other place I wanted to be.

  2. On one of my first shopping trips with Ryan (Bashford Manor Mall) I put him into his new stroller and accidently got his fat little arm caught in this hinge thing. Needless to say he cried and so did I. I felt so terrible. Sometimes I long for those days again. I think grandchildren will be wonderful!
